Basically no major mistake by the referee. He controlled the match well, and he never looked nervous. He did very well since the winner did decide the top spot in the group.
After Sepahan scored in the first half, the assistant raised his flag for offside but the replay showed that when the initial shot was taken, the striker who put the rebound in the back of the net, was actually onside.
The assistant did get lucky at the end, because Sepahan did win the match and finished top spot of the group.
WorldReferee.com is one of my favorite sites, because you can learn all about the referee from all over the world. My suggestion is that there should be a grading spot for the Assistant Referees, because in my opinion, the referee should not be blamed for his Assistants mistake.
