UAE 0 - 3 Iran
Asian Cup 2011 group stage · 2011-01-19 Referee: Dong Jin Kim

Not impressed

Wrong pick

The AFC picked the Korean referees to officiate this match when Iran's next game in the Quarter Finals is actually against South Korea so the referee w as obviously going to show more cards to the Iranians which he did.

Two double yellows

The referee had no choice but to send off two players-one from each team- but maybe when the UAE player got the second yellow, the referee should have made a gutsy call and gave him a straight red but he took the easy way out.

Goalkeeper should have got a red

The UAE Goalkeeper had to be held back by two or maybe even three of his teammates so he doesn't attack an injured Iranian player and the referee decided to just give him a yellow. Remember, Violent Conduct is not just hitting a person but attempt as well.

Match

The result shows a one sided match but UAE did miss couple of good chances in the first half. At the end, the Persians deserved the win and that's exactly what they got.
