- One of Subkhiddin's designated assistants for the World Cup 2010, the Thai Thanom Borikut, was arrested November 2009 for having killed his boss, the director of the education department where he worked. Thanom was seen on camera, planting a bomb which later went off and killed the director. Thanom later said he was mad at his boss because he "did not give him fair treatment and often barred him from officiating overseas as a Fifa referee"

(You wonder what good are cameras if they capture both the planting and the exploding of a bomb.) - After evaluating his performances in FIFA matches, Fifa dropped him of the list of prospective World Cup referees for 2006. Subkhiddin Mohd Salleh kept his head high and said he will definitely be there next time in 2010. He was, but then again, he wasn't really (only as a 4th official)
- During a penalty shootout in the match Japan-Jordan, held in China, Subkhiddin made a decision that probably cost him a place on the list for Germany 2006. After Shunsuke Nakamura and Brazilian-born Alex had shot over the bar, the Japanese bench and several players complained to match officials about the condition of the turf around the penalty spot. Japan coach Zico held up Jordan's second kick to protest. The shootout was delayed for at least five minutes as a furious row between players, coaches and match officials erupted.
Amid the confusion, Malaysian referee Subkhiddin Mohd Salleh suddenly ordered the teams to switch ends.
According to the Jordanese coach his team had almost already reached the semifinals. He said he had never seen a referee change ends just because one team asked him too.
Maybe because of the delay and all the emotions, Jordan missed three chances to win after the shootout was resumed.
According to Zico the Jordan players misbehaved. Also the hostility of the crowd in the Chinese stadium was a reason for quickly leaving the county. - Subkhiddin Mohd Salleh and his assistants Mohamad Rodzali Yacob (Malaysia) and Mohamed Saeed (Maldives) were sent home from the FIFA World Youth Championship in the Netherlands 2005, after at least one of them failed the fitness test.
- Mohd Saleh is a teacher at the Vocational High School in Nibong Tebal, Penang.
- During the qualifier Indonesia - Oman for the 2011 Asian Cup, a Indonesian fan entered the field, took the ball and ran towards the Oman goal. The Omani goalkeeper actually defended his goal and stopped the man (and the ball) before a policeman managed to grab the fan.
- During the 2007 Youth World Cup, a Portuguese u-20 player grabbed the red card from Mohd Saleh's hand while the referee held it in the air for another Portugal player. Mohd Saleh sent them both off, but it didn't look as if the Malay referee had much authority over the youth players.
There was also a red for Chile in that match, and 9 yellows.
