Argentina weren't wonderful. But, undoubtedly, they were the only team that wanted to win the game. Greece were good at reducing spaces during the 1st half and part of the 2nd, but you can´t always do the same and try to win a game (except in the EURO 2004). That stingy playing by the Greeks was adequately rewarded: they're going home, and South Korea will be playing next weekend against Uruguay.
Of course, I have to speak about the referee. I highly praised Irmatov in a previous match report (the Eng-Alg one), but unfortunately I can´t do the same today. I didn´t like his job at all... He was correct, but no more than that. During the first half, he seemed to be determined to book nobody, he just talked. It´s good to talk, but when you talk and players are still fouling their opponents, you'll have to use your cards. He should have shown two yellow cards when Greek players started fouling Argentinians when they weren´t able to stop them properly. But Irmatov preferred to keep cards into his pockets. Apart from that, there was at least one clear penalty (Milito was held by Kyrgiakos).
But he didn´t loose control. The game wasn´t difficult, but... it´s a WC game. And, as I have previously said about Irmatov, he´s always in the best position, near the actions. Surely, he´ll have another match. FIFA seems to like him.
