This time a player - Manchester sider Giggs - went into the box and fell. Giggs fell long after the Celtic Keeper pulled back, if only to show the world he wasn't going to touch him. He didn't want to risk a penalty on a player whose chance of scoring was very small. Alas. Normally in the field Lubos Michel isn't the easiest referee around, but when someone falls in the box - even if he stumbles over his own feet - there is no other choice for the Slovak but to either draw a card for diving or one for a foul, which also means a penalty.

then relaxed (a little)

In the second half not much happened. Celtic, that had put up a fight in the fist half, seemed to acknowledge Machester's might, happy as they were to have scored twice anyway. Lubos Michel who didn't have much to do, relaxed a little. Still he did things like booking Miller without reason and forgetting to award a corner kick to Celtic.

question

Can a referee book a player who fouls on a team mate? A question that appeared when Celtic defenders Mc Mahon and Lennon had a bit of a fight. Yelling at each other, gesticulating in such a fashion that Michel had to warn them.

the match

A real Brittish classic, a good game allthough most (Celtic) players really aren't very skilled.
