Hungary 2 - 1 England
WC 1962 group stage · 1962-05-31 Referee: Leo Horn

easy

wonderful

Horn writes (in Leo Horn fluit) that there was not much left of the famous Hungarian team that had beaten England in 1954. Only Grosics the goalie was still playing. This was a wonderful match, played - according to Horn - with the "traditional discipline known in Europe". There was a penalty for England for a hands ball and there were no warnings. (they didn't have cards in 1962) Horn calls the match a routine job.
