Florian Meyer had it easy in this match, and didn't really have any decisions of note to make. He kept play moving as much as possible, and kept the cards in his pocket until deep into the second half. The only time I disagreed with him was early in the second half - Essien was fouled very carelessly (perhaps a booking), but Meyer gave the free kick to Atletico.
The assistants had plenty of practice at flag technique, with Chelsea straying offside a ridiculous number of times. Judging by the replays, they got them all right, so it was a good night for the German trio.
