Ghana u20 0 - 0 Brazil u20
WC 2009 u20 final · 2009-10-16 Referee: Frank de Bleeckere

won by Ghana (at last)

oh yeah

But other than that Frank de Bleeckere was Frank De Bleeckere: a good ref worthy of a final.
Oh, yeah, there was a hands ball by Brazilian nr 9, a hand-of-godlike try at the goal, but Alan Kardec is no Maradona and the Belgians didn't see it. Lucky for them and Ghana the ball was stopped by the goalie.
And oh yeah, Ayew stepped on Toloi's ankle after the Brazilians had used up their substitutions. Replayig it I wasn't sure if this was on purpose. Toloi stayed on the field, but only just.
And oh yeah, the last yellow, for a shoulder push..........
Come to think of it: De Bleeckere wasn't really good in this match after all.

match

t was an under 20, so what do you expect...... I missed a really good player, one to watch. If this was the future of football, we're in for a lot of boring matches.

under something

So why does FIFA have an under 20 and UEFA an under 21? And can a 17 year old player take part in an under 20 (and an under 21) when he is also in the under 17 team? Or a 16 year old?. A 12 year old? And if there is an under 17, and an under 16, why is there no under 15? Or is there? And why no over 41? Or an under 10? The 2010 FIFA World Cup under 10 in Myanmar. Won by the People's Republic of North Korea (there is some doubt about the correct age: some kids looked a bit older).
A good 16 year old player could play for all the teams, including the under 89.
If there is a World Cup for women and one for homeless people, there could also be one for people in wheelchairs, or the World Cup for men with mustaches, for kids from broken up marriages, for people who like oranges, for guys called Ben, for referees.

according to Frank de Bleeckere

The stadium was especially built for the occasion. Next to Sepp Blatter sat Hosni Mubarak (the then Egyptian president). Among the security measures was the blocking of all communication devices. Not only cell phones didn't work, also the official's communications were down.
Shaking Blatter's hand after the match gave Frank a thrill.
