The New-Zealand team got 4 yellow bookings, a bit too much because they are one of the most fair playing teams around. It's also their main contribution to this tournament, compared with most other teams they somewhat lack football skills. At least one New Zealand booking was not correct, a South African player leaned and fell in a strange way against a New Zealand player and that was not a foul.
The South Africans played far better than in their first match, more enthusiastic and got more team play. Still, with this squad, I doubt they will make it into the second round, at the real World Cup in 2010.
Another word about the Zulu horns. The noise is overwhelming, as a neutral observer it makes me very itchy. My girlfriend thinks the whole of Africa is full of mosquito's. I tried to explain it's a commercial / cultural thing, but still it sounds like huge swarms of mosquito's invading our space and that makes it difficult to concentrate on the match. I presume it's disturbing for the players as well. Why these instruments are distributed we can only guess, but it will not hold, that is if you do not want to give English Hooligans some extra ammunition in 2010.
