Anyway, Russian referee Vladimir Ivanov did such a bad job last week that the referee commity gave him a warning. This could be his last big match. (It probably is, considering his age). Ivanov who was suspended once for coming back on his decision (a goal) was a bit hesitant sometimes. "I think the ball was over the line", his body language seemed to be saying, "What do you think? Not? You sure? But I already whistled. Sorry".

There's not much more to say about Ivanov's performance. The players behaved themselves, there were no handballs or off-side goals, only a few yellow cards and Germany's Schweinsteiger kicked Kaviedes in the face and Ecuadorian Guagua put his elbow against Ballack's nose.
