Paraguay 2 - 0 Trinidad and Tobago
WC 2006 group stage · 2006-06-20 Referee: Roberto Rosetti

Is Rosetti the final whistler?

Politics

In the first half Paraguay was denied a clear goal, when a linesman thought he saw a hands ball. We can't say it was a direct mistake made by Rosetti, though I guess it's the same as in politics... The chief is responsible for the mistake of his cleric. A linesman flagged Paraguayan player Baretto down for a handball. For television viewers it was very clear Baretto did not touch the ball. It was not a hand ball. When the ball went into the net the linesman called referee Rosetti, the goal was denied, where it should have been 2-0 (damn this telecommunicationes and silly clerics...).

Goodbye

Both teams made the best for it. Both teams were fighting for victory. It was fun to watch. Overall Paraguay was the better team. Not much to do for Rosetti. And when the game faded out, we wonder if both teams will ever meet again.
