Bad starting

Nacional players started the match determined to stop every River attacks by fouling. They did it once, twice, three, four, five, six times... Gaciba booked nobody, his first yellow card was just because of protesting.

Penalties

Gaciba gave one penalty to each, but both were badly conceded. In the first one, Fabbiani was kicked by Cáceres, but before that he should have called a free-kick for Nacional because the River attacker used his leg in a dangerous way. Just 2 minutes after, the referee balanced: he gave a penalty to the Paraguayans, because of a foul that only happened inside his mind. Ahumada didn´t do anything to Escobar, but this Brazilian referee whistled. Another - and even bigger - mistake.

The rest

The only good important decision by Gaciba was to show a direct red to Diego Buonanotte after he violently kicked a Nacional player. It could have been a yellow, but it wouldn´t have been enough. After that, River got nervous. They had to win in order to keep their chances in this tournament, but Nacional was the one that scored the most...
