Manchester City 2 - 1 Hamburger SV
UEFA Cup 2008 - 2009 1/4 finals · 2009-04-16 Referee: Nicola Rizzoli

Who is Rizzoli?

and

and the players saw his back a lot too. Whenever they wanted to argue with him, or made angry gestures at him, Rizzoli ignored them and walked away. Kicking away the ball was allowed too, as well as faulty throw-ins. Kompany changing his shirt for a fresh one with a different number on the back, Mathijsen pulling a City shirt in his penalty box and even a dive or two. All these things were allowed. So what doesn't he allow?

not

Jumping up in the area and (probably) accidentally having the ball touch your arm is not allowed: penalty. Sure, it was a hands ball, but many refs would've waved it off. namely refs who wave off a lot of things. Refs like Rizzoli, but not Rizzoli. Which makes him a bit, well, untrustworthy? inconsistent? unrizzolian?

match

There should be some sort of a penalty for players who stand off side more than ten times (Caicedo)
The match wasn't bad. City really tried for a while, free kicks hitting the post and the bar but there were a lot of mediocre players in both teams and a lot went wrong.
