Medina Cantalejo saw 42 fouls and deemed 5 bad enough for a booking. Maybe two or three fouls were dives and maybe two bookings were a bit overdone, but overall the Spaniard - who saw about half his national team play here and who has made some really bad decisions in his career - did well. It was a bit of a fight, this match and not always a fair fight and Medina Cantalejo was close to the action and quick with the whistle.

eight goals in a quarter-final is a result for some far away tournament named after a local dictator, not something to expect in the Champions League. A really good match, the first really good Champions League match I've seen in ages.
