I have to admit that I was happy when I saw that he wouldn't go to WC 2010. In this match he had significant help from his assistants, who as usual were worse then Vassaras, but they didn't make mistakes tonight.
Vassars tonight made no major mistake, but lots of minor ones. Last minutes of the first half was typical for Kyros. For one foul Malouda maybe deserved a second yellow, but because the first caution he got was for nothing, Vassaras had no courage to send him out of field. Chelsea coach Scolari however saw that and left him in the locker-room at half time. After that incident Vassaras awarded free kicks for Roma, that were seen only by him. Then, to compensate, he awarded free kicks to Chelsea for fouls that also didn't exist. And to level all his mistake, he ended the first half too early during a promising counter-attack by Chelsea.
Almost after every foul he speaks with the player, and with that style he doesn't allow a fast pace in the game, probably because he is not in good physical condition.
What can be said about a match in which one team didn't shoot on target at all? Chelsea won a match which will be quickly forgotten. Roma must improve their offensive or they will be found in a difficult position in CL and in Seria A.
