Gaciba kept things under control always, but at the end, there was a big skirmish. Uruguayan Rodriguez and Colombian Sanchez, fighting for the ball during the last minutes of the game, hit, kicked and insulted themselves. The referee didn´t do anything. Of course, the rest of the players went into the "conflict zone" in order to help their mates. Gaciba should have sent-off both players, but he prefered not do do it. But both were aggresive and acted violently, so he didn´t decide well.
Before that episode, Gaciba had done a perfect job, in fact he must have been OK 95% of the times. He seems to be able to see everything, almost the same that TV cameras. During the first half, a Colombian player was entering the area when was tripped. It looked like a very clear penalty (and a big one) but Gaciba, very secure, said that it had been outside. TV showed that Gaciba was right.
Uruguay got the victory, a very deserved one. The Uruguayans played an intelligent game, and could defeat Colombia in their country for the first time playing WC preliminaries. Colombia must improve a lot if they want to qualify.
