This ability to judge without any doubts within a split second and not having to search for the right card - something lesser refs seem to be doing a lot: where's that damn thing, I had it here somewhere - might be seen as a mannerism. Something very important for him. Hey, did you see me pull that card? I'm faster than my shadow. Then again, maybe he realy has no doubts and that is not always a good thing.

Lubos Michel for instance should doubt the judgements of his assistants. Again, twice off-side was flagged when it clearly wasn't. And he is a bit severe, where looseness could help making the match more attractive.

This is a referee who has a match in his pocket, who gets the palyers listen to him, who isn't childish, but a bit too quick with his card trick.
