In the 37th minute Matejovsky was tackled unfairly after he had tackled a Turkish player unfairly himself. The first foul was punished. A free kick was given to Turkey, but Matejovsky was injured and had to be replaced... There were some other small accidents Frojdfeldt let go ... Later on, another accident happened: inside the penalty box a Czech player was hit one and half meter above the ground by a Turkish leg. Frojdfeldt decided not to give a penalty nor a card...
The game became very exiting in the last 15 minutes. The Czechs lost a solid 2-0 lead. In extra time the Turkish keeper Volkan was sent off correctly when he pushed a Czech forwarder. Of the last four minutes the ball was kept in play only one ... It was an hectic game, but overall Frojdfeldt did well again.
The Czech coach made a classic mistake by adding another defender when they were 2-0 ahead and Turkey was attacking relentlessly. The more defenders you've got, the more difficult it is to keep the ball. If you can't keep the ball, the others will score in the end and when they score they will get a boost and you will never ever be able to change your play from defending to attacking. Bruckner doesn't know this? How long has he been coach? 150 years?
