The Italian team was more effective in reading this referee: they jumped, dived and screamed better and that's why, when in doubt, Duhamel often gave the advantage to Fiorentina. This was in the first half.

In the second half Duhamel was better, more concentrated. Maybe at half time he was told he was fooled too often. The Fiorentina goal looked like a hands ball to me..., but nobody protested and it was impossible for Duhamel to notice. Liverani elbowed Simons in his face, just five meters away from Duhamel. It was a clear booking, but strange enough Simons was shown a yellow card. Duhamel did not make a lot of mistakes, though I never felt sure it would stay this way. He just did not look very confident...

All together it was not the best of matches. Both teams were not very impressive, sometimes even boring. Let's hope the second leg gets better.
