Jerome Damon seemed a bit sloppy. A couple of free kicks were for the wrong team, especially noticeable were the ones in good positions. It was as if you could hear him think "It's a foul, but I'll award the free kick to the defending team because the last one was for the attackers and it's a dangerous position".
When Guinea had one near the Moroccan goal, a Moroccan player ran way too early towards the ball. Then again Damon saw an elbow in a Moroccan face and he kept his eyes on Feindounou and El Arbate who had a bit of a disagreement, after the ball was played. Feindounou, the best player in the Guinea team and scorer of two goals, thought no one would see it if he kicked the Moroccan defender behind his back. But Damon saw it, as well as four cameramen.
While more and more people started arriving in the stadium for the next match between Ghana and Namibia, both teams scored great goals. A free kick that fooled everybody, a great header, a long shot. Between the goals though, both teams were struggling and committing many fouls.
