Liverpool 4 - 2 Arsenal
Champions League 2007-2008 1/4 finals · 2008-04-08 Referee: Peter Fröjdfeldt

Great play in the great Anfield theater

slightly

When looking at Fröjdfeldt's booking record, you'll notice that two of every three yellow bookings are given to the visiting team. Only in the first fifteen minutes it looked like Fröjdfeldt was not totally atmosphere proof. At this stage the hometeam was not performing well and when in doubt Fröjdfeldt decided to give Liverpool the advantage of play. This slightly favouring attitude did not have any consequence for the overall game. When Liverpool scored the equalizer players surpassed themselves and performed a great football fest.

great battle

Five years ago there were two semi-final matches between Inter and AC Milan. Supporters were not interested to fill the stadium, both teams were uninspiring and we witnessed two boring draws. How different it is in England when two great teams from the same competition meet in the Champions League. This night every inch was a battle, constantly singing supporters and never a dull moment in sight. And some great goals!

well read

Fröjdfeldt 'read' the game well. He officiated almost in an English manner: no problem with body contact. He kept the pace of the game going on and was decisive by every obvious foul. And..., he was correct with most other fouls which was only clear to me after I watched the replay.

maybe

Maybe Mascherano deserved a booking just by the amount of fouls he made. Fröjdfeldts decision to award Babel a penalty seemed to be correct, but maybe... if you watch the replay it seems like Babel was outbalanced by himself, but if you look at it again... he came down at full speed, it looked real.
