The Mexican was always near the actions. During the first half we saw a very quiet game; Rodriguez let the game flow but he correctly booked Ambrosini in Milan and Ibarra in Boca. The advantage was also well used, two or three times. There were just a pair of erroneous calls before the 1st half ending. Japanese TV didn´t repeat two doubtful actions: one inside Boca area (it could have been a penalty there) and one off-side where the Argentinians could have scored at 45´.
It´s not common to see a final where the referee shows two direct red. Rodriguez is known as severe, and he didn´t change his style in this Final, which is OK. I don´t consider the first red as questionable: Kaladze made a typical red-card action when he violently - and which is more important, dangerously - fouled Gracian. The 2nd one could have been a yellow to Ledesma. Battaglia and Paletta were also booked, both correctly. Mexican assistants failed once or twice, but in general they did it OK.
After a balanced 1st half, Milan was very superior in the 2nd and, with a magnificent KaKá, could have made more goals; the Italians are know the only "King of Cups". Rodriguez should be satisfied, he had a good night in a very important Final, and for a referee, that´s always great.
