That is probably why he didn't react when PSV's Farfan fell after being hit in the face. On tv viewers could see that nothing really happened and that Poulet was right. (Dutch player Cocu assuming his mate Farfan was almost killed, took revenge on the Turkish player which resulted in a booking. Poulet could have sent him off).
I might also be why Poulet relies on his assistant who didn't see a clear hands-bal. Also it was the same assistant who called for off-side when it wasn't, ignoring the "when in doubt don't raise your flag" rule.
Poulat acts like a strong leader in the field. He doesn't need to show his yellow card to make the players behave themselves. The really bad mistakes were made by his assistant Lionel Dagome, who believes (like many other assistant referees) he can see the ball being shot and the player start running at the same time.
