We've made fun of the Portuguese ref a couple of times here at worldreferee.com, and again we wondered why he is still there. Booking the wrong player, acting like a ballerina, wrong decisions more wrong decisions, chaos and mayhem on the field, what a terrible ref. Send him back to take charge of intertoto matches in the summer. But i must confess he wasn't bad at all in this match.

Of course again there was some grumbling by the players, this will always happen when the Portuguese is in charge. Olegario's assistants were almost always wrong (and ruined a couple of nice chances for Lazio) and there was amoment when no one knew what was going on, not even Olegario, but most of his decisions this time were good. He was lenient when necessary, he anticipated on situations and gave the advantage many times.
