He overruled his assistants twice. About which team was to throw in. Not the most important of decisions but why overrule an assistant, if seeing which player touched the ball is what they are for in the first place?
PSV sider Perez stepped on Deniz' foot on purpose. Webb didn't see it.
Deniz stepped on Kromkamp's leg on purpose. Webb didn't see it.
Marcellis, the Dutch player who could have gone for some sort of a record by getting sent off in all his CL matches (2) fouled heavily while he already had a booking, Webb ignored it
There were little struggles going on between players, I didn't get the impression Webb did anything about it, if in fact he noticed it. The only time he warned two players was in the 1st minute, his best minute
Webb took that much time to whistle for a little foul by Farfan that Farfan, who actually stood waiting for it, decided to play on. Only then did Webb whistle, Farfan got angry and kicked away the ball. Another booking. And whose fault is that...
And then Deivid got red carded. He stretched his leg against an opponent, sure, but not near as bad enough to be sent off. Not even the PSV players understood it. No one did.

There is a need for new Champions League referees. Men like Vassaras and Hauge and Stark have been there too long. Howard Webb though should not be one to take their place.
