Knut does not like football

back

A player falls, his opponent gets the ball, there is some protesting. It happens often enough and a normal referee would simply wave it off. A normal referee would shake his head, or move his index finger or even laugh. But not Knut Kircher. Knut has no humor. Knut immedialtly turns his enormous back to the players (and us) and walks off. Knut has no time for this. Sure, it's another way to deal with it, but it's an unfriendly and disrespectful way. (and he doesn't see what happens next, and tells us he doesn't care)

cartwheel

A Scottish player made a rush into the box. It was way too busy to take a shot on goal so he ended up against someone's pelvis and made a cartwheel. Was it a penalty? Was it the player's plan to get one? Does it matter? It looked like it, but it also looked like a foul, thus a penalty. But Kircher gave the Scott one of his looks and gestured angrily to him to get up, he did this even before the Scott fell. Knut Kircher had already made up his mind to not to award a penalty regardless of what happened, because he assumed that that was what the player set out to achieve. And even if maybe maybe maybe Kircher was right, he was moralistic. And that is wrong.

Lousy

Kircher is grumpy and he wants everybody to know this. His grumpyness, his being in a constant bad mood reflects on the players. They yell and kick at goalposts. And Kircher seems more interested in himself, in his role in how he deals with situations than in anything else. Kircher is a good actor, but a lousy referee.
