San Marino referee Gabriel Rossi took charge of the match (San Marino is currently the number 196 of the world) and he had it easy. The teams commited only 12 fouls (a record?) and Rossi showed only one yellow card, which should have been a red.
And that could be the thing about Gabriele Rossi, about a referee from San Marino: inexperience and a lack of courage. He stood in the way in the penalty box for instance. He didn't dare to show a red to a home sider and he didn't dare to cancel the first French goal for off-side. Or maybe he just isn't good enough.
