The Belgian, Worldreferee's ref of the year 2006, knows what he is doing, he knows the players and knows their intentions (other than playing football). He warns defenders not to hurt the other side's forward, tells them he is watching them. He doesn't fall for any trickery (and thus it stops) and his assistants were incredibly sharp. When in doubt it's not off-side, I wish more assistant referees would dare to use that rule.

You can buy all the best players in the world and still not win. Real Madrid did not buy all the best players, but they tried to. Great players but not a great team. And having all the money does not make you very popular. I'm sure most neutral spactators were for Lazio, the underdog. And the Great expensive Real players, especially the defenders made a lot of mistakes, hence the two Lazio goals.
