The match Heerenveen (wihout European number two top scorer Alves who could be seen sitting grumbling in the stadium because his team does not allow him to move to somewhere else) vs Helsingborg featured one very famous player: 36 year old Henrik Larsson. And Panic seemed a bit in awe of his presence. The Bosnian fell for the old fox's tricks a couple of times.
Anyone can referee an easy match, any UEFA referee. It is only a good referee who handles difficult situations well. Panic had roughly two situations to handle and one wasn't even difficult. Omotoyossi (Helsingborg) hit Prager (Heerenveen) three times in the face. Of course Prager got angry. Panic, who hadn't seen any of it, thought it was a fight between the two and he booked them both. Omotoyossi should have been sent off. A ref should be able to rely on his assistants in situations like these.
(One of his assistants by the way, jugded an off side situation very well, when not the player who scored stood off side but his mate standing right next to him.)
The second situation was a penalty, which maybe should not have been awarded, but let's give Panic the benefit of the doubt on this..
