Poll ballancing memorable encounter

Lucky Milan

In the first half Gattuso should have been sent off, after comitting three ankle tackles from behind. Milan coach Ancelotti was smart enough to replace him at half time.

Last year's memories

It was a strange match full of memories of last year's semi-final encounters. Again PSV was the better team even after half of the former team players had been sold to bigger and richer clubs. Best man on the field was IsmaﬠAisatti, who just turned seventeen and was outplaying Andrea Pirlo and Paolo Maldini. It could have been the rising sympathy for young players as Aisatti, Afellay and Lamey, that Poll did not fell in the trap of tumbling Milan forwarders Gilardino and Vieri.

Lucky PSV

In the second half Milan defender Stam was sent off after receiving his second yellow booking. This second booking was correct, the first booking was questionable. Fifteen minutes before the end, Milan started to realise they could loose this game. They started pressing. In 87th minute Serginho fell down in the penalty box after a light touch by PSV-defender Addo. A penalty could have been given. Poll decided not to, returning PSV some luck they missed so badly in last year's semi-final encounters.
