Dinamo Zagreb 2 - 3 Werder Bremen
Champions League 2007-2008 qualifiers 3rd round · 2007-08-29 Referee: Terje Hauge

Bad

Penalty's

The first in the 13th-minute was most disputable but Hauge didn't think about it for a moment and he was right because a Dinamo player pulled the shirt off a Werder player. The second and third penalty were very obvious and Hauge was right again. All his other decisions were very confusing.

Bad

Hauge didn't control the match acceptably. He gave seven yellow cards but he also had to give two more which were second yellows. One for Dinamo and one for Werder. His assistants saw more fouls than Hauge even when he was very close to the place where the foul was committed. His assistants had many wrong rulings as well. Sometimes he was far away from the action but that's nothing new because he is overweight. Most funny situation, to me, was when Hauge held his hand up for an indirect free-kick although the players played seven (!!!) passes. After that situation it was obvious that he didn't prepare for the game in the right way.

Match

Werder controlled the game and played as they should. Dinamo performed well but that is not enough for the Champions League, maybe for the UEFA Cup. Diego and Dinamo playmaker Modric showed most on the pitch and they probably will go to a better club.
