Kassai seemed alert and pro-active in this game. He didn't book until 59'', but then three Italian players saw yellow inside less than five minutes. This was good as the deceisive phase of the game before the German goal unfolded. Perfect first yellow for dissent, then a second one for a clumsy challenge on Kimmich and a third one for a boot to the back of Gomez. The challenge by Pelle just before extra time was more than borderline to red, but overall Kassai took the right decisions, communicated well with players and assistants and was more than in the picture.
* Well in control * Consistency in calls * Good runs * Clear signs and verbal warnings * Perfect manner for the match * Cool cat (no pressure felt) * Good assessment for foul play and applying the advantage * Good penalty decision (Italian equalizer)
* Interfered with the game (the Neuer relance which hit him on the way away from the goal). He gave a phantom foul for Germany to even it out, hmm. * Rather soft yellow card to Schweinsteiger * Could have been harsher to delaying tactics and pushing and shoving inside the box
