Russia 1 - 2 Slovakia
Euro 2016 group stage · 2016-06-15 Referee: Damir Skomina

Very, very good

Ref and ars

Skomina had a somewhat bumpy path in the development of his career. He started his internationals as a "prodigy child" - much like Kassai - and like the Hungarian suffered a "nose dive" for a couple of years before being "resurrected" in 2015-16. And he devoured the chance, he has currently been given, with great skills and visible aplomb. There were definitely some lapses, and when I check my notebook, the fouls not detected were not too many - Slovakia was luckier not to be punished in so9me cases in the first half, while Russia was the "benefctor" towards the end. On a personal level, Skrtel (Slovakia) was lucky not to be booked (52'). The ars were less polished than their "captain". Vukan was "a late arrival", as he didn't raise his flags for fouls commited very close to him (15', 17', 26') and Praprotnik got away with not being alert to an offside position of one Slovak player, just because this "culprit" lengthened the ball to another one whose very clear offside position was was obviously detected (37').
