The referee was in a terrible position, therefore he did not see the player from Saudi Arabia control the ball with his hand and score the goal into an empty net. This goal made the match 3-1 and it was clearly game over for North Korea.

Penalty and Red Card

The referee and his assistant called a red card and penalty kick for handling the ball on the goal-line, and it was clearly the right decision.

Pro Saudi?

Having watched the entire match, I have to say that the referee called most of the 50/50's for Saudi Arabia which angered the North Koreans and who could blame them?

Overall

The performance of the referee was average and should be improved.
