The Belgians started of looking a rather less subtle equal, but were soon outclassed by the Argentinian team. Although solid and professional, they didn't show much of the incisiveness, panache and spirit as displayed by the Argentinians. Only by the end, as is often the case, they showed the urgency and devotion that should have been around much earlier. This was a deserved win for the south americans even though they too could have been more aggressive and decisive.
I've tried hard to find fault with Rizzoli's performance, but was defeated. Just when I thought he maybe allowed for too much pushing and shoving in corner kick situations, he clamped down on it. He showed a yellow card when obviously deserved, and was right on top of players that were on the brink of crossing a line. Very authoritative yet supple. No mistakes. And also his linesmen were spot on. Clear favourite for the final as far as I'm concerned.
