Czech Republic 1 - 0 Poland
Euro 2012 2nd round · 2012-06-16 Referee: Craig Thomson

It's a game of two halves ...

The first half

Craig Thomson booked Limberski (12'') and Murawski (23'') which was completely justified and decided quite comfortably with great ease. I thought he was composed, looked sure of what he was doing and found a medium line in terms of how much contact he would allow. Then things went downhill and he never came back...

The second half

How on earth can you let go a match to which you had a firm grip in the first half? I seriously don't know. Thomson ignored a clear yellow card - a tackling with both legs in front of his eyes - and he allowed Dudka to ellbow his opponents twice without doing anything at all. A Polish player pushed a timewasting Czech twice deliberately in the last few minutes - Thomson booked the Czech player and didn't even talk to the Polish player (he must normally at least book him for this). The Polish players committed quite a number of fouls where Thomson just looked out of his depth. I felt he did too little against time wasting and never got it back in the end.

Not enough for a Euro ...

I thought, this was not enough for a further match in the Euro. A good start, but then sank like a stone in the seond half (below expectations).
