The match was going well for both teams. They were both getting chances, but the away side was playing well defensively, and probably wanted the game to end in a tie and go to penalties but near the end of the first half, Kovalenko made a big mistake and called a penalty that surprised everyone. There was barely any contact, and I didn't expect that to be a penalty.
Kovalenko wasn't nuetral at all. Every 50/50 call went to the home team and I wonder if that had anything to do with the Stadium being full and the atmsophere being a little crazy and maybe scary for Kovalenko.
The penalty totally changed the match and unfortunately Kovalenko had a total impact on the result of the match.
Two of the biggest clubs of Asia are meeting in the Round of 16 and you are telling me that AFC couldn't assign Irmatov or Nishimura to this match. Some thing really surprise me!!!
