They were playing the 2nd minute when Paraguayan defender Cáceres committed a big mistake, softly giving the ball to his goalkeeper Bobadilla near their own area´s border. Mexican Castillo took the ball first, and when he was going to score, Bobadilla knocked him down using his leg. Penalty, of course. And red card shown to Paraguayan GK. Pezzotta took his time - 20 seconds - but decided perfectly.
Cáceres&Bobadilla big fault caused the "Paraguayan disaster" that took place after that. The south americans tried to attack but, of course, became weaker defending. And Mexico started scoring... They scored a "first second goal" but because of a very controversial decision, the goal was invalidated: off-side. But they didn´t worry: after that they scored 5 more times.
The Argentinian referee seems very calm when refereeing. Today, his initial correct decision increased his confidence even more. He didn´t have any problem; of course there were little faults but nothing relevant. OK when using cards, and also conceding the 2nd penalty to Mexico. This one was a strong performance.
