The fierce look saves no cards...

The mad five minutes...

He looked okay in the first 30 minutes of the game when he found a well measured approach as to what he would allow and for what he would award a free-kick for. Then he gave four yellows in less than five minutes: The one for Luis Gustavo (35'') was completely justified, the ones for Lahm (31''/dissent) and Kroos (31''/foul) were okayish while the French one for Diarra (33''/foul) seemed a bit harsh to me. On the whole, not all of these cards were convincing.

Goal Number one...

The French called for a foul on Lahm before Bayern winning the ball but Carballo was quite courageous in what he would allow in parts of the match. The ball touched Lahm's arm, but I thought it to be okay to decide the contact not to be voluntary when Gomez went on to score the 0-1 - with the friendly assistance of the French goalkeeper.

An ellbow and the second half

Mere yellow was too little for a deliberate ellbowing to the face by Mbida (64''). The fourth and fifth yellows for Schweinsteiger (81'') and Alaba (85'') were again good, but I found it a bit difficult to detect a predictable policy by Carballo on cards. On the game, he did alright without really leaving the "bread-and-butter"-level. This was no really diificult match, so an average performance without big challenges and perhaps one bigger mistake.
