Colombia 1 - 0 USA
Copa America 2007 group stage · 2007-07-05 Referee: Manuel Andarcia

Goodbye

Volleyball?

In the fifth minute, an American defender brushed the ball with his hand just enough to stop a Columbian from striking. Everyone in the stadium saw that, except for Andarcia. I can“t understand why he didn't see that enormous penalty.

Amateur

When you see Andarcia officiating, you might think this is an amateur referee. Yes, at least he runs, but he's usually not in the correct location, so he can't follow the actions properly. Probably this is why he failed so miserably (for example in the penalty action).

Yellows

What would you think about a match where 9 players have seen a yellow, and one saw a red card? That it's been a very violent game. Well, this wasn't so violent. Andarcia shows cards for petty things... the best example, near the end of the match: the referee showed a 2nd yellow to the Colombian goalkeeper Zapata, for delaying.

Penalty

Andarcia did something well. He correctly conceded a penalty to Colombia. Rodallega was clearly fouled by the USA goalkeeper. No doubts here.
