Good except from a penalty

Assisstants

His assistants were absolutely brilliant and supported him 100%. Esteghlal's second goal had a hint of offside but the replays showed that the first assistant referee was right to keep his flag down.

Missed Penalty

A couple of minutes before Esteghlal's goal, Arash Borhani was brought down in the penalty area, and it was an obvious penalty but Tojo made the call against the striker and cautioned him for simulation. In my opinion, Tojo was lucky that his missed call did not impact the match, and Borhani was lucky that he didn't get a second yellow for getting in the referees face after the call was made.

Overall

AFC has some serious thinking to do because many teams have suffered from referee mistakes in the past couple of seasons in the Champions League, but those same referees are used in the Quarter and Semi Finals of the competition. Something is not right here.
