In his first match, he was pedantic. Very pedantic. Yesterday, he let the game flow whenever it was possible. That was really nice, even though the match was sometimes boring - again Hayatou nearly fell asleep in his lounge - the pace was high due to Jedidi's leniency. However, he did not miss any card. Some referees who are lenient miss some cards that are actually necessary, Jedidi did not. Good card policy. He was very calm in his presence and did not make the players nervous. The only point of criticism: his non-foul-detection was good, but sometimes, he detected dives. However, he did not caution them, he just let the game flow. So overall it was nearly a faultless performance, of course, as we are used to, there are always some mistakes at this AFCON, but nothing too serious.
He was accompanied by Balla Diarra and Felicien Kabanda (Mali / Rwanda) who did their job quite well, too. They had not much to do either..the 4th official was Koman Coulibaly, our friend from Mali. As always, he seemed to be bored of the match and looked as if he will fall asleep very soon. But thank Godness, the Angolan defense created more or less an own goal which is ready for "it's not raining, it pours"..
Doue, Bennett and Abdel Rahman will be in charge of their second match each while Nampiandraza will make his AFCON bow. It is hard to say who could get a quarterfinal, it is easier to say who belongs to the pool of the final refs: Bennett, Benouza and Alioum could make it. After yesterday, one may not forget Jedidi.
