Venezuela and Uruguay knew, after Bolivia - Peru had ended, that if they tied, they would both go on to the following round. That's why they wanted the game to end before it started. The match showed two teams just waiting for the end... no attacks, no dangerous actions... nothing.
Because of that, a tired Simón could perform much better than he did yesterday. He didn't need to run very much. And when there were some hard fouls, he used the yellow card properly. There were 21 fouls and 4 yellows ... because both teams used some violence. But nothing out of the normal thing (considering that Uruguay was playing there).
This one was the worst match in the Copa America so far. And after 14 games, we had our first 0-0. The result shows clearly what happened in the Metropolitano... 0 emotions, 0 goals. Let's hope, if both teams have to play each other again in the quarterfinals, we'll see a much more interesting game.
