SMILE IS GOOD FOR HEALTH AND... RESPECT IN FOOTBALL.

Decisions

There were not many key-situations to resolve in this game, but a detection of fouls, except in one case, was almost perfect. Redouane Jiyed did not fell for simulations and allowed for a hard game which permitted for an observation of a really fun match. Also, individual punishments were distributed in a spirit of neutrality and understanding. First two tactical fouls ended with verbal warnings from the Moroccan, while a subsequent tactical offense by Hamid Ismail Khalifa was already punished by yellow card.

Style

Referee was smiling through the whole game, so there was a friendly and pleasant atmosphere. It must be recognized that the smile is a very good way to management games with the participation of Arab teams, because players from this part of the world react to the friendly approach better than to hard tough punishments. Also his fitness was near perfection - many sprints and fast pace of the match were not problem for him.

Match

Qatar was not a better team. They had much luck, when the result have increased to 2-0 after a fatal error of defenders. Unfortunately for the hosts, Bahrain did not surrender and fought to the end for a favorable outcome. This was achieved in the last minute of the match, when Sami Al-Hussaini scored his second goal, leading to a tie. Qatar players were not enough organized and relaxed after achieving a two-goals advantage.
