Bolivia 0 - 1 Uruguay
Copa America 2007 group stage · 2007-06-30 Referee: Baldomero Toledo

Boring

Light

This American referee tolerated some hard fouls from Uruguay. Diogo, for example, saw the yellow, but then he continued fouling and Toledo allowed him to break the rules. Only 2 Uruguayans saw yellow card. Very few in comparison with the way they played.

Goal

When Vicente Sanchez scored, Bolivians protested because of a possible off-side. Assistant didn´t flag and Toledo convalidated the goal. TV couldn´t show this very well, so we can say the referee was OK.

Penalty?

From my point of view, the way Bolivian defender Peña pushes Rodriguez at minute 52, can´t be considered as a legal action. If I had been the referee, I would have conceded the penalty.

A lot to improve

Both teams have to improve a lot if they want to continue alive in this Copa America. Both can be in quarterfinals if they win next games.
