One of the most important matches of his career. TV cameras and newspaper journalist were waiting for the Belgians at the airport baggage carousel. 50.000 Turks yelling and whistling made it impossible to hear the Swiss hymn. The Turkish players were diving and complaining, every second was a battle, the fans threw things on the field. Frank describes it as if he was in a cocoon: not bothered by the aggression and tension, just concentrating on the match.
The turks couldn't score the necessary last goal, knowing they'd qualified, the Swiss didn't celebrate but fled to their dressing room. Oddly enough the Turks also ran off the field. Fights broke out inside the corridor.
