More than 40.000 Venezuela fans had come to Pueblo Nuevo in support of their "Vinotinto". But referee Reinoso did not seem to feel intimidated by this. In fact, he conceded more than two or three free kicks to Bolivia really near Venezuela's area. Most of them, correctly.
The match was well played and not violent. This made Reinoso's job easier, but he could have booked one or two more players (just 2 saw yellow). Besides, the referee was not always near to the action as FIFA recommends.
If we remember what these two teams have shown us over the last years, they have improved a lot. Bolivia did a great job, playing with the ball on the ground and trying to attack every moment. Venezuela also intended to do that, but their players seemed a bit nervous and pressed by their own fans' support. Surely, in the next matches we´ll see a stronger local team.
In the last minute, Reinoso didn't concede a penalty to Venezuela. Rojas fell down after being softly contacted by a Bolivian defender, but the referee said "Nothing happened". It was a questionable decision, but no obvious mistake because it was not a clear penalty.
