the waiter

looks

Manule Grafe as a referee seems the opposite to the way some refs look too much the part. Vink, Rosetti, and currently Kevin Blom, look as if they have been practicing their moves and faces in front of a mirror. They have the angry look, the don't fuck with me look etc. Manuel Grafe however, with his bashful smiles, seems a bit nerdy, like a waiter or a friendly school teacher or an actor in a comedy. I wonder how he'll do in an important big match, I wonder if he'll get the Southern-European players to do what he says. I wonder how far he'll get with his career seeing that UEFA seems to prefer those mean looking poseurs.

match

In the first half, when the match was still a match, Grafe whistled a tad too often, the stumbling Fins fooled him sometimes but then again maybe they didn't, because suddenly Grafe pulled a second yellow for a player called Hetemaj who had been diving and complaining quite a lot after his first booking for checking Van Bommel with his elbow.

Sneijder

Wesley Sneijder in the first half showed himself on top of the world as a player. In the second half nothing much happened and it seemed that the Dutch had lost interest.
