I only saw him at African Cup of Nations 2010 when he had one solid and one poor perfomance (CMR-TUN). He seemed to be a pedantic referee who can easily struggle when he is under pressure. I have to stress that he improved that, yesterday's perfomance was overall still good. Although the match CRO-KSA sounds very easy, it was not like that as there were many close decision that had to be solved by Doue - and especially AR2 Birumushahu from Burundi.
Apart from some doubtful decisions in midfield duels, we should concentrate on the main decisions. In minute 8, he refused to give a penalty kick to Saudi Arabia. As I have already criticized in the first match report, there were not thus many replays. The replays we had at hand were not enough to say that it was a clear penalty kick, but: there are only two opportunities as the striker did not stumble: either it was a foul by the goal-keeper, then it is PK and probably an expulsion or it is a dive, then it is YC to the striker. AR2 had a free view on the situation and did nothing, Doue either. THIS, at least, is a mistake. In the second half, after both goals had been scored, AR2 disallowed two goals of Croatia, both correctly. The first goal was close offside, the second time, AR2 flagged that the ball had crossed the goal line before the goal was scored. Well, probably right, one cannot say it 100%, so ok. His card policy was ok, he only missed a YC in the first half against a Croatian.
