KICK-OFF FOR COLOMBIA 2011 !

Overall evaluation

Well, he was a personality in the field and managed to have the full control, even though the match was pretty easy. Most of the midfield duels were evaluated in an adequate way; the assistant referees were good as well, as far as I could judge it (see below in the FIFA-paragraph..). Of course, it was not perfect, he missed some fouls in the midfield, but that goes without saying when you decide upon a lenient style, as Seneme obviously had done prior to or during the match. So he missed one clear foul of a Korean player and perhaps, it was a yellow card as well. However, we saw a referee who needs bigger matches..

FIFA...

Three circumstances made me upset: First, I do not understand why FIFA focuses thus much on cautioning players for kicking the ball away or pulling their shirts off. These instructions which led to a harsh yellow card to an English player are simply out of the place. It was according to the Laws, however, he must be then consequent to book a Korean as well for interrupting a quick execution of a free-kick. Anyway, they should concentrate on how to detect fouls like foot-up-tackles. This was a good beginning in Mexico when many referees immediately cautioned these fouls with a straight red card. The second and third things which annoy me are more of technical nature: if I counted correctly, there were three replays in the whole match. No offside situation was replayed; I do not know why, but perhaps the director fell asleep by this match as well.. And finally, it is ridiculous that the official FIFA scoreline said: ENG 0-0 KOR. The KOR stands for Korea Republic and not for Korea DVR. It had to be PRK, an impossible condition.
